Therapists Supporting Therapist Through Pro Bono Therapy Exchange

Therapy For Therapists, By Therapist

Pro Bono Therapy Exchange

Two Chairs Therapy Exchange is not just a platform; it's a community where therapists come together to share their expertise, receive the support they need, and contribute to the well-being of their colleagues.

As mental health professionals, there are a few truths we all come to know. First, burn out in our field is a real issue. Often we work alone for long hours, helping people with their most difficult struggles with minimal support for ourselves. Second, therapy can be prohibitively expensive, even for those of us working in the field.  Therapists often do not have health benefits which would cover mental health support, and for those who do coverage is usually minimal. Third, therapist need therapy just as much as anyone else. We are often going through the same struggles we counsel our clients through day after day while carrying the heavy load of being a helper. We know better than anyone the importance of self-care, and yet we frequently struggle to practice what we preach.

At Two Chairs Therapy Exchange we aim to address these truths. We are not a therapy practice, rather we support therapists from all walks of life to come together to support each other by providing therapy to each other, free of charge. Instead of exchanging money for therapy, we help to facilitate a pay-it-forward model where one member can receive therapy from a member of our community and in exchange they provide therapy to another member. But offering and receiving pro bono therapy sessions is just the beginning! By becoming a member of the exchange, you are joining a network of likeminded therapists in our ongoing mission to eliminate burnout by supporting each other and our industry

At Two Chairs Therapy Exchange, the conversation begins with connection, and healing starts with a supportive community. Join us in redefining the way therapists give and receive the care they deserve.

“Self-Care is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation.”
